About TTC Technologies

TTC Technologies® was incorporated in the state of New York in May 1993 as an innovative commercial engineering software production and consulting firm. At incorporation, the name was Thaerocomp Technical Corporation. The change of name to TTC Technologies, Inc. was done in 2007 to make it easier for customers to pronounce the company name.

TTC Technologies® started with an office space in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University (State University of New York at Stony Brook). The company moved to the Long Island High-Tech Incubator at Stony Brook University in 1998. TTC was hatched in 2002, at which time it moved to its current corporate office in Centereach, New York.

The development of one of our products, INSTED®, started with one simple goal in mind: thermal analysis software that is really useful for designers of thermal systems. Simplicity, ease-of-use, and robustness were the most salient design criteria in the early design stages of the INSTED® software. INSTED® also comes with a huge database for on-the-fly access of single-phase and two-phase thermophysical properties, piping system data, Moody chart, tube layouts in heat exchangers, fouling factors, and so on. INSTED® is a one-stop solution to design efforts in the field of thermal sciences.

Our company also developed the AEROFLO™ multi-disciplinary CFD software. The niche for AEROFLO™ includes problems that require unsteady, high-fidelity solutions, such as aeroacoustics, combustion, and aeroelasticity. Our main objectives during the design and test phases of AEROFLO™ were to obtain a software suite which is easy-to-use, stable, and truly high-order accurate compared to other available commercial software products. AEROFLO™ became the first, commercially-available CFD software that uses high-order methods to simulate viscous flows around complex objects, such as the Boeing 747-200 aircraft.

As you will see on this website, AEROFLO™ and INSTED® software tools are now available on the cloud via the Software as a Service (SaaS) mode, allowing you to solve realistic engineering problems in parallel on TTC-managed high performance servers on the cloud. This is also a first in CFD and engineering analysis.

TTC also markets VULCAN and iSCRIPT™ software tools. VULCAN is the de-facto code for high-speed combustion analysis in supersonic and hypersonic vehicles. Originally developed by the Unite States Air Force, and presently managed by NASA Langley, VULCAN has been significantly enhanced by TTC, to produce what is arguably the most advanced version of this flagship product, having capabilities such as two-phase flows, an efficient turbulent combustion simulation module, more advanced methods to model turbulence, and an endowed, high-order simulation capability at high speed.

iSCRIPT™ is intended for simulating any engineering components, subsystems, and systems, and is based on a scripting language, like MATLAB. iSCRIPT™ has been applied to many problems, including the optimization of a high performance fighter plane with specified trajectories and missions. Only the beta version of iSCRIPT™ is currently available.

TTC is also the purveyor of 3 sets of Science and Mathematics tools: the Mathematics tools, Engineering Database, and Unit Conversion modules. The Science and Mathematics tools allow you to evaluate over 300 functions, such as the trigonometric functions, curve fitting, numerical integration, statistical analysis, special functions such as Fourier and Laplace transforms, matrix analysis, optimization, plotting, and so on. The database modules including thermophysical properties of fluids and solids, pipe loss factors, friction factor calculation, pipe schedules, fouling factors, radiation properties, etc. The unit conversion tool supports more units than is generally available.

Note that the 3 Science and Mathematics tools are available free-of-charge to all members of TTC’s Advanced Simulation Club (TASC). To inquire about membership in ESC, please contact us by email.

Finally, in recent years, TTC has leveraged its world-class and advanced programming portfolio in the development of advanced information and communication technology (ICT) tools, such as integrated Learning and School Management (iLMS) at tertiary institutions, and enterprise computing and Business Process Management (BPM) services.
